Group accommodation in Serfaus for up to 28 people

Chalet Gretl is spread over four floors and has ten rooms and apartments, with fourteen bedrooms in total. The rooms and apartments vary in size from two to five people. Several apartments have multiple separate bedrooms, allowing you to maintain your privacy. Many rooms and apartments also have their own seating area, giving you somewhere quiet to retreat even when staying with a larger group. The chalet has more sleeping spaces, but due to the capacity of the communal areas, it is rented to a maximum of 28 people.

The communal areas are located on the First Floor. In the separate dining room, the whole group can come together for breakfast and dinner. The cozy living room is a great place to relax after skiing, enjoy a drink, discuss the day or play a game together.

Many rooms are located on the sunny south side of the chalet and offer views of the surrounding mountains. Several rooms also have their own balcony. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the chalet, and your ski equipment can be stored in the heated ski storage room.

Fully catered during your ski vacation

At Chalet Gretl, you stay according to the Wens Chalets catered chalet formula. On arrival day, your chalet hosts welcome you from 4:00 PM into a clean chalet with the beds made. Every morning they prepare an extensive breakfast, so you can start your next day on the slopes full of energy.

During a week-long stay, your chalet hosts prepare and serve a three-course dinner on six evenings. A selection of drinks, including beer, house wine, soft drinks, coffee and tea, is also included. If you would like to add something extra to your stay, various additional packages can be booked, such as an Aperol package or bites package. Especially when traveling with a large family or group of friends, it is convenient not to have to worry about shopping, cooking or booking restaurants.

On departure day, you can use the chalet until 10:00 AM. The chalet hosts then take care of the final cleaning, which is also included in your stay. This means you do not have to clean the chalet yourself at the end of your ski vacation.

Centrally located chalet in Serfaus, close to the metro

One of Chalet Gretl's greatest advantages is its location. The chalet is situated in a quiet side street just off the main street, allowing you to stay centrally in Serfaus without being right in the middle of the bustle. Shops, restaurants and other village amenities are all within easy walking distance.

The underground village metro station is around 50 meters from the chalet. Within a few minutes, the metro takes you to the main lift area, where the Komperdellbahn, Sunliner and Alpkopfbahn depart. The lifts are approximately 600 meters from the chalet, but thanks to the metro you do not have to walk this distance every morning in ski or snowboard boots.

We find this connection particularly convenient for families with children and larger groups. If not everyone wants to leave or return at the same time, each person can easily start their ski day when it suits them.

Chalet Gretl is also well located for après-ski. Patschi, one of Serfaus' best-known après-ski bars, is located by the main lift area and the final metro stop. After skiing, you can enjoy a drink here before taking the metro back to the chalet. If you are skiing toward Fiss, the Hexenalm is another highly recommended place to end your ski day.

Skiing in Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis

From Chalet Gretl, you have easy access to the varied Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis ski area. The area offers slopes for different ability levels and is well known for its extensive facilities for families and children. Experienced skiers will also find plenty of options, including longer and more challenging runs throughout the ski area.

Thanks to the short distance to the metro, you can reach the ski lifts quickly from Gretl. After a day on the slopes, you can spend some time in the center of Serfaus or return directly to the chalet. In good weather, the balconies are a lovely place to enjoy the sunshine and mountain views before joining the rest of the group for your three-course dinner.

Getting to Chalet Gretl in Serfaus

For guests traveling from the United States, flying is generally the most practical way to reach Serfaus. Innsbruck Airport is the closest airport, approximately 55 miles (90 kilometers) from the chalet. From the airport, you can continue to Serfaus by rental car, taxi or pre-booked private transfer.

Depending on your flight itinerary, Munich and Zurich airports are also convenient options and generally offer a wider range of international connections. From either airport, you can continue your journey to Serfaus by rental car, taxi or transfer.

Serfaus is easily accessible by car, but the village itself is largely car-free. On arrival day, you are allowed to drive to your accommodation to unload your luggage. During your stay, driving within the village is not permitted. With the underground metro station approximately 50 meters from Chalet Gretl, you will hardly need a car once you arrive.

Parking spaces can be booked for an additional €10 per car per day. Depending on availability, you can park at the chalet or at one of the parking areas at the entrance to the village.

As Serfaus is located on a high plateau in Tyrol, the final part of the journey can involve winter driving conditions. In Austria, winter tires are compulsory in winter conditions between November 1 and April 15, and snow chains may be required on certain roads. If you rent a car, make sure appropriate winter equipment is included and check the latest weather and road conditions before traveling.
